Current opportunities

Interested in joining the team?

Inquiries are welcome from prospective postdoctoral researchers, PhD and MS students, and University of Wyoming undergrads.

How to inquire

Email psharma3@uwyo.edu with the following information:

  • Keep email subject - "Researcher Inquiry : [Position you are eligible for], Area of research"
  • Your CV or résumé
  • A concise description of your research interests and why the group is a good fit
  • Your academic transcripts, when applicable
  • The position you are seeking: postdoctoral, PhD, MS, or undergrad research

Backgrounds in science, engineering, and math are welcome. Prior experience with DFT, molecular dynamics, machine learning, programming, alloy synthesis, or characterization is useful but not required for every project.

Mentoring approach

Developing independent researchers

Students are mentored as emerging researchers rather than only as project executors. Research questions are developed collaboratively, with increasing ownership as experience grows.

The group emphasizes clear physical reasoning, reproducible computational and experimental methods, strong scientific writing, early presentation opportunities, and thoughtful career development.
